Terms & Conditions
Trading Hours: 9.00am - 5.00pm (Mon to Fri)
Arrangements can be made to drop work off or to pick work up outside of these hours.
Turnaroud Time: ...is 5 working days from our receipt of acceptable artwork (files) and a signed approval to proceed with work. If work is designed by BannersRus, it is 5 working days from our receipt of the signed art approval (acceptance to go ahead).
Irrespective of any assumptions; if work arrives late, if files are incorrect or flawed, if amendments are required, if an art approval is received late, then the turnaround is delayed. BannersRus does not accept work where the turnaround time is compromised yet a client's timetable is expected to be met. If a compromised deadline can be met then it is policy to apply a rush charge(see RushWork), eg. if art arrives late and delivery is expected in 48 hrs - this constitutes rush work.
NB: (For sub contractors) it is expected that you do not give your clients unrealistic guarantees or promises, and that they be aware that if tight turnarounds are required, or normal turnarounds are delayed, then penalty charges apply, and late delivery or cancellation of work may occur.
Rush Work: Charges apply for rush work (less than 5 working day turnaround). Tighter turnarounds carry higher charges (refer to BannersRus Administration for rates). An agreed turnaround time is accepted only on the basis that acceptable artwork, a signed approval, and payment terms are received in time. Any delays to the above can negate any agreed delivery time, and new arrangements need to be made.
While endeavor to maintain levels of quality, rush work places higher demands on the performance of both equipment and people. The resultant rate of work may produce minor flaws. (eg. small colour imperfection, hemline variation, smudge mark), in order to fulfill a client's demand. Such work is deemed acceptable quality under rush conditions otherwise work will not proceed.
NB: Certain materials (eg. voil, organza) need time to process due to their inherent properties and even at best they are difficult to use for banner work. They are not recommended for rush and the resultant work will be acceptable otherwise it will not proceed.
Artwork: Where quotes are issued subject to artwork being supplied, it is assumed the artwork files will be correctly constructed and work is run as in and the client agrees to accept the product. It is recommended that an accurate proof be supplied with all work. If any obvious flaws are detected, eg. incorrect aspect ratio, missing fonts, low-resolution bitmaps are not to standard, then the client need to re supply artwork. If BannersRus is asked to correct artwork (or make amendments or resubmission of files will alter turnaround times.
NB: When BannersRus processes design work for clients-specific requested fonts may not be available (if they cannot be supplied their purchase is billable). If no layout (or accurate instruction) is submitted, the interpreted design is considered final, (minor amendments will be made once only). Additional amendments and fine tuning are chargeable (work in progress). Experimental artwork, mockups, variations for choice and ongoing design is chargeable.
BannersRus prints in CMYK. While we endeavor to match Pantones as close as possible some Pantones are not achievable with CMYK inks. Specialty colours eg. metallics are not printable with CMYK.
Where pockets or sleeves are required artwork needs to have bleeds (in mms - the flat width or height x 2+20mm). For hemming, ropes and eyelets - 30mm.
File Types: Adobe Illustrator (vector files) are preferable. In all files fonts should be supplied or converted to curves and colours eg Pantone should be correct and listed.
Corel Draw files are accepted but they are prone to problems in output (eg. colour translation, gradients, transparencies). If work is required to correct these problems it is billable. (To our knowledge all versions of Corel Draw have inherent software flaws).
Jpegs and tiffs cannot be colour matched. The quality they print at is related to the quality of files. If the file is low resolution. (giffs cannot be used for this reason) details will be poor and if resolution is too low then they are not worth printing. A rough guide is about 40mb for good quality and 20+mb is passable. NB: a small tiff stretched to a large size (re-res) only enlarges the deficiencies in the file. Bitmaps placed into vector files do not change their characteristics.
JPGs are bitmaps or tiffs that are compressed. It is not a preferred file type unless the original was sufficient in mbs to negate the artifacts that jpgs produce.
Adobe Photoshop files - same as JPGs,bitmaps or tiffs.
Adobe Pagemaker & Quark are not supported file formats. If you have exported EPS files from these packages then It is the client's responsibility to check their integrity. PDFs are acceptable if generated correctly however they are a file format that is non editable.
Finishing: Certain materials eg. voils, which are more suited for the dress and curtain industries pose difficulty in cutting to precise tolerances and holding straight edges. If clients have concerns please discuss with staff. All hemming is done on industrial machines. Banners may have to be joined or welded to meet size requirements (eg. 12m x 6m). We will inform clients if joining is required.
Copyright (Inc Trademarks): The client agrees to indemnify BannersRus, its officers, agents and contractors, against any liability arising from any breach of copyright or Trademark of any artwork, prints, images, illustrations, scans, photos for scanning, and files (electronic/hard copy) submitted or required to access, for the production of their work. Any copyrights pertaining to BannersRus remain the property of BannersRus unless arrangements for ownership or usage rights (conditional) have been made with BannersRus.
Payment Terms: BannersRus is a COD company. Credit card payments are only made if this is a client's preference, or if a non payment for goods/services occurs.
All GOODS remains the property of BannersRus till payment has been made.
Limited Liability: If production is compromised due to unforeseen circumstances (act of God, hardware failure, etc.) BannersRus will not be held liable for consequences resulting from late or non supply.
BRU does not freight forward, Liability is limited to reprinting/finishing only. If an order is incomplete (quantity, finishing, graphics), BannersRus retains first right to complete or amend such work and must be contacted immediately. If a client utilizes or retains work it is deemed incomplete, BannersRus interprets the work as delivered and complete. If amendments to an order are undertaken by a client without consultation or agreement with BannersRus, then responsibility for the work or cost involved will not be accepted. BannersRus will only accept costs for any other agents work if it agrees to and assigns the designated work. BannersRus does not accept responsibility for the quality or warranty of 3rd party work. BannersRus does not accept responsibility for the performance of any delivery or postal service. If work has been delivered to them (in accordance to their criteria) or the client's instructions, then it is deemed delivered.
Cancellations: The client agrees that if the jobs is cancelled after the quotation is approved, that they must pay for any non returnable unused materials purchased up to the point of cancellation, the cost of returning the materials if possible and for any labour and materials used up to the point of cancellation.
